Socio-environmental Responsibility
 
Socio-environmental responsibility is one of the main values that guide Velcan Energy all along the planning, construction and operation of its renewable energy plants.
 
During the construction of Rodeio Bonito SHP, several programs such as environmental monitoring, animal and plant conservation, archaeological patrimony survey and social communication have been scheduled in order to assure the safety, the respect and the quality of life of the local communities.

Technical studies, diagnostics, stabilizing and interactive actions will be conducted for the harmonic and dynamic reion of the populations concerned by the project .
 

CO2 Certified Emission Reductions (CERs)

 
Rodeio Bonito will strengthen Brazil’s renewable energy complex and offer an additional alternative to traditional thermoelectrics. Its technical features and its sustainable contribution to the supply of Brazil’s energy demand respond to essential criteria required by United Nation’s Clean Development Mechanism.
Directed by its carbon credits experts, Velcan Energy has started the process and procedures necessary to obtain the Certified Emission Reductions for Rodeio Bonito SHP. The amount of CERs estimated is 15.000 / year.

These carbon credits can be bought by industrialists to comply with emission quotas of GHG (Greenhouse Gases).
